Islamic preacher Dr. Zakir Naik is to start his much publicized tour of Pakistan from Karachi. He is starting his visit from the largest city and the country’s economic capital. Currently, Karachi is a city with a very rich cultural and religious life, making it possible to hold the first lectures by Dr. Naik during his stay.
It will take place at Bagh-e-Quaid, an important park that exists to the east of the mausoleum of Pakistan’s founder, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. From a historical perspective and from the perspective of nationalism this place holds a very important place because it reflects the principles for which Pakistan was created.
The topic of Dr. Naik’s lecture to be delivered in Karachi is about the goal of creation and ways in which Islam can help people achieve a fulfilling life. Karachi is a cosmopolitan city and therefore the people meant to be reached through the radio programs are expected to be from all facets of society. The place has been well selected because it can easily gather many people who are interested in the scholar’s knowledge.
Appearing side by side with Dr. Zakir Naik will be his son Dr. Fariq Naik will focus on youth by discussing topics like understanding of the Quran. His lecture will primarily discuss the strategies on how young Muslims can assimilate the scripture by living Quranic values each day, which will support the proposition that reading the Quran should not be the end goal since the scripture has to be understood as well as followed.
As a big city, Karachi should be a perfect place from where Dr. Naik’s nationwide tour can start because thousands of people will benefit from his knowledge.
